I was just warming up for today's show with some exercises.

Today's show, it's all about exercise.

(kids cheering) (Wimee humming) - Friends, I'm so glad you are here.
Right now, we are live on TV on WGBU.
Our show is designed for you to play along with us on many of the things we'll be doing.
And some of you are registered at our custom made play at home interface.
So you will notice that there will be viewer ideas brought in during part of the show in real time.
When they registered, they were given an animal and a color to represent them.
So all of us are gonna play together.
And some of you, some of your ideas will be shown right here in the show!
The show is better because of our collaboration.
Okay, let's keep going!
Today's question, we love to start with the question of the week.
What's your favorite active game to play?
Jim is with us as my human intelligence, as always.
Jim, active play?
- You know, I like to make elaborate obstacle courses.
(Wimee gasps) So it helps get housework done 'cause I like being productive while we do that.
So like- - Okay.
- The obstacle course would be like, you know, vacuum the living room, then go put five things in the dishwasher, and then go and dust five items in the living room.
And then go outside and pull five weeds, and then push the push mower for five rows.
- Wow.
- Then, you know, wash your car, sweep the porch, then ding the bell.
And then my family's competitive too, so everybody does it, and all the housework gets done.
It's awesome.
- That's amazing.
I can just picture you if you all had the same- Wait, do you have the same course all at the same time?
- Yeah.
- Or individual course.
- Same.
- No, so everybody gets the same course, so you get things done, parts of the big jobs done.
- Man, that's so cool.
I love it.
Jim, thanks for being with us, as always on the show.

Oh, you're it.
Oh, no, frozen!
Someone please unfreeze me.
Oh, ooh, Frisbee!
Because it's fun to see how far I can throw it.
(Wimee whooshes) It's still going.

(Wimee laughs) You can play with the boomerang or Frisbee.
Ooh, baseball!

Do you have another idea for exercise, or do we sing about that?
- [Jim] Well, I also, I just like playing catch.
(Wimee gasps) - I love it!

I'm gonna throw you the ball.

(Wimee whooshes) - [Jim] Got it.
- Oh good!
(Wimee laughs) Ooh, hopscotch.
And jump, and left, and right, and two legs.

♪ When I'm dancing, when I'm dancing ♪ ♪ How I love to go dancing ♪ Dancing keeps me healthy (Wimee laughs) ♪ How I love to exercise From the top!
♪ How I love to, how I love to, how I love to exercise ♪ ♪ Playing bocce ball keeps me healthy ♪ ♪ How I love to exercise ♪ Taking a walk keeps me healthy ♪ ♪ How I love to exercise ♪ Riding my bike keeps me healthy ♪ ♪ How I love to exercise ♪ Throwing a Frisbee keeps me healthy ♪ ♪ How I love to exercise ♪ Walking on a trail in the woods ♪ (Wimee laughs) I changed the melody.
♪ How I love to walk in the woods, exercise ♪ (Wimee laughs) I kinda went off the rails a little bit there, but that's what's fun about singing and playing.
That's what we're doing, friends.
We're playing.
(Wimee humming "Oh my darling, Clementine") Friends, thanks for all the help with those ideas.

(upbeat music) - Did you know that running, jumping, climbing, and playing at the park helps keep you healthy?
It does.
Just moving your body helps your muscles, bones, heart, and even your brain to grow strong and healthy!
It helps you sleep better too.
Yeah, that's why it's important to move and give your body some exercise every day.
Yeah, every day.
You can play catch, jump rope, go swimming, ride a bike, or just play in the yard with your friends.
Yeah, I think I'm gonna go take a walk with Siblee today.
(upbeat music) ♪ How I love to take walks ♪ Keeps me healthy, yes, it does ♪ (Wimee laughs) Thanks, Moby.
Hey, I wanna take a walk with you later, okay?
- [Moby] Okay, I'll see you then.
- Great.
Okay, friends, it's time for today's one, two, three sentence story.
Beginning, middle, end.
Let's write a story, friends.
In the first sentence we'll set the scene.
In the second sentence there is a problem.
No!
(Wimee cries) But don't worry, friends, because in the third sentence, there is a solution.
I never know where these stories will take us.
That's what's so fun.
Now, I invite you to share with me a person, place, or thing.
Friends on the play at home interface are thinking of possibilities.
Anyone at home watching, play the game.
What would you put as the first word?
(Wimee gasps) Black Rooster suggested bear.
Okay, the story will be about a bear.
It was a beautiful day in the city, and Bear was taking a walk.
Yeah, we'll go with that.
That's been kind of a theme so far.
Look at that, there's Bear.
Do-do-do.
Hello friends, I'm just gonna take a little walk.
(Wimee laughs) What's gonna happen?
Oh no!
The bear's in the city.
There's a problem.
No, what is the problem?
It's inspired by a word from you.
(Wimee gasps) Pink Lion says ukulele.
Okay.
Now the bear could forget the ukulele.
It could break.
(Wimee gasps) I think the bear was playing a ukulele.
It was a concert.
Okay, okay, here we go.
It was a lovely day, and bear was walking in the city.
In the middle of his performance, his ukulele broke.
Wait, we skipped a step.
I'm gonna change the beginning.
It's gonna say that Bear was in the city for his concert, but then suddenly his ukulele broke.
What do you think, Jim?
I did a little revising to change it.
Is that working?
- [Jim] Yeah.
I like that.
- Yeah, I think so.
Okay, so the bear is in the city doing a concert, but the ukulele broke.
How will the show continue?
No!
It will come from you friends playing at home to help us with the solution.
This will be where the problem is solved.
It could be logical, silly.
(Wimee gasps) It's a monkey!
Yes!
Okay, here we go.
Bear was down in the city performing a concert.
In the middle of his first song, his ukulele broke.
Our friend Monkey jumped on the stage right away with a kazoo, and the show went on.
Yeah!
Monkey and Bear playing kazoo.
Do-do-do-do-do!
Oh, that's was fun.
(Wimee laughs) Ooh, let's get the kazoo in there.
K-A-Z-O-O.
Let's see how the kazoo looks there.
Oh, there it is!
Nice.
So the ukulele, we'll get that fixed later, right?
But for now, they're gonna play.
(Wimee humming "Oh my darling, Clementine") Or Jim, what song do you think they're playing?
- [Jim] I love that.
No, I love this story, and I think that's great.
They can play our opening song.
Yeah!
We could join them later too, Jim.
♪ How I love to, how I love to, how I love to exercise ♪ (Wimee humming) - I'm gonna exercise while you sing.
- [Jim] Alright.
♪ How I love to, how I would love to, how I love to exercise ♪ ♪ Playing the kazoo with the ukulele ♪ - Wait?
♪ How I love to exercise - You played the ukulele and kazoo together?
- [Jim] Ooh, I think you could actually.
Yeah, that would be pretty tricky, but I think you could do it.
- Well once the ukulele's fixed for sure, but maybe the kazoo even.
We'll keep working on it, right?
That's what they're revising.
- [Jim] Yeah, I think another string's on the way.
- Yeah, yeah, oh good.
Okay, maybe Michael brought the string.
I bet he did.
Yeah, okay, okay.
Friends, thanks for helping out with today's three sentence story.

It's time for Language Explorers.
(light music) - Today's word is exercise.
Exercise.
- In Spanish exercise is ejercicio.
Ejercicio.
- In Swahili, exercise is zoezi.
Zoezi.
- Exercise in Ukrainian is (speaking in foreign language).
(speaking in foreign language) - Exercise in Arabic is (speaking in foreign language).
(speaking in foreign language) - In American Sign Language, exercise is signed like this.
Exercise - In Haitian Creole exercise is egzesis.
Egzesis.
(light music) - I just love it.
I love learning.
Jim, did anything stand out to you from Language Explorers today?
- [Jim] Well, yeah, actually, you know what stood out to me is I was just thinking everybody exercises everywhere in the world, right?
Like we might even have different ways of exercising, but there's probably a lot of exercises we do that are the same too, right?
- That's true, that's true.
- [Jim] Just like the language, just the word is different, but maybe the exercises are different too.
- I think you're, I wonder what if- So we call this jumping jacks in English.
One, two, right?
I wonder if it's called, anyone know?
Hmm, we'll do some research.
That's fun.
Ejercicio, okay.
Okay, friends, it's time for a visit with our friends over at John Ball Zoo.
It's time for going to the zoo.
♪ We're going to the zoo with all our friends ♪ ♪ And when there we're gonna see a- ♪ - Dwarf highland cow.
Hi friends!
I'm here with Jackson.
Hi Jackson!
- Hi!
- Oh, who's behind us right now?
- Behind us is Pumpkin.
He is our dwarf highland cow here at John Ball Zoo.
Sometimes people call them a miniature highland cow.
It's the same thing.
It's just two different names.
- And how does Pumpkin exercise?
- So Pumpkin exercises a few different ways.
So just like your dog at home, we can actually take Pumpkin for a walk around the zoo.
So- - [Wimee] Wow, that's so cool.
- [Jackson] My co-train, Jackie, and I will take Pumpkin for a walk around the zoo.
He gets to see and explore all the different areas.
Then when he comes back home here into the Pumpkin patch, that's the area we call it here.
- [Wimee] The Pumpkin patch!
- He gets to run around, explore.
He gets to eat his food.
He gets to explore enrichment.
So that is different items that we give him, like this green ball that's out here called a hay-and-play feeder.
- So Pumpkin loves to exercise.
And do you have like specific training things you do?
- Yeah, so Pumpkin does what we call target.
So when I stick my hand out, Pumpkin touches his nose to my hand.
And when he does that, he gets a reward.
So today he got peanut butter, and he really, really likes peanut butter.
It's a very special treat.
So he does not get that peanut butter any other time except for training.
- Okay.
- So he knows that that is really special food.
So he, if he wants the peanut butter, he has to do what I ask him to do.
- Okay.
- To exercise, we'll ask him to target back and forth.
So I can ask him target.
Good!
So he moves his nose and his whole body, and then he gets some of that peanut butter.
- [Wimee] It's important, right, for Pumpkin to get exercise?
- Absolutely, it's super important for everyone to get exercise.
So when Pumpkin gets exercised, it keeps his muscles really strong, it keeps his brain really strong.
And it also helps Jackie and I stay strong too, because we get to walk him around the zoo.
So it gives us good exercise as well.
Do you think robots should get exercise too?
- Probably, but maybe not the same way that pumpkin gets exercise.
- That's true.
(Jackson laughs) - 'Cause everybody, right?
- Yeah, everyone needs exercise.
- Yeah, by jumping, running, playing.
- Absolutely.
- Taking a walk.
- Oh yeah, walks in nature are one of my favorite ways to exercise.
- Nice, walking all over the zoo.
- Oh yeah, I get lots of steps walking around the zoo every day.
(Wimee laughs) - I love it.
Well Jackson, thank you so much for sharing with us about Pumpkin.
- Of course.
- And how to stay healthy with exercising.
- Yeah.
- Speaking of walking.
- Yeah.
- Should we go take a walk?
- We can go take a walk.
- Let's do it!
- Alright, let's go take a walk.
- All right, this way.

(Wimee laughs) ♪ We're going to the zoo with all our friends ♪ ♪ And when there we're gonna see a- ♪ - Dwarf highland cow.
(Wimee laughs) That was so cool.
Man, I just think that's awesome.
Oh, Pink Lion just said in the United Kingdom, they call jumping jacks star jumps.
(Wimee gasps) That is so cool to know!

I wonder if Pumpkin could do star jumps.
I like that ball.
Jim, what would you put in a ball if you had like a reward ball that you would get like for a reward?
- [Jim] I would probably definitely put something chocolate in there.
- Ooh.
Now, would you take your face and go like (Wimee slurping) and try to like lick it?
- [Jim] Yeah, I would've no problem doing that.
Yes, if it involved chocolate, yes.
- I think I would want mango or some fruits like- Mango's really a great fruit.
That was, I wanna go walk around the zoo right now, but I gotta finish this show.
Okay, friends, it's time for a joke.
It's time for laughing with Sliblee.
(kids cheering) - What did the baseball glove say to the baseball?
- [Audience] What did the baseball glove say to the baseball?

(Siblee laughs) Catch you later.
It's like, see you later, but catch you later.
(Siblee laughs) (kids cheering) - So yeah, that was a funny joke.
- Oh, we gotta get back, Mr. Grumfry.

How does Siblee come up with all these jokes?
I wonder where he's performing too.

(upbeat music) In this game, we're gonna make a rhyme with the word go!
Play at home friends, play at home interface, you're gonna be typing words in, and we'll see it.
So we've got the word snow.
Yes, indeed!
Snow rhymes with go.
So does show.

Friends at home, just say to someone you're with.
Just be like, oh, this word rhymes.

- [Jim] Well, I was trying to do that, but I already saw know up there.

That was a fun one.

(upbeat music) - So this book is a well-known nursery rhyme about the gingerbread man.
But I bet you did not know half of the characters that involved in this book.
And I challenge you not to sing the song in your head as you're reading along, but oh my goodness, what a tale this retelling is.
We meet the gingerbread man's creators, the husband and the wife, and we also meet a cow and a pig on this marathon as the gingerbread man runs and runs to get away from everyone who is chasing him.
But then he comes up on a sneaky fox.
And what do you think happens next?
Hmm, I can't tell you.
You'll have to check out this book to find out.
It's a surprise.
(upbeat music) - It's time now for slowing down.
(soft music) (soft music continues) All right, well friends, we are having such a good time.
I just love doing this show.
I love collaborating.
I love working together.
We can create, we can explore, we can learn.
We can do so much as a community of learners.

Can you find something healthy?
Can you find something that you use to exercise?
Three things, look for 'em.

We've been thinking of lots of things about exercise, healthy.
Which one do you wanna find first?
You decide.

Go find these things.
Jim, have you found anything yet?
- I have.
I have this extinguisher that I carry around with me in case of emergencies.
- Yeah.
- And so that starts with E. - It does.
And emergency with a bonus.
- Yeah, right?
And I have this avocado.
It's healthy.
- I love guacamole!
- And then I have this free weight that I use for helping to exercise.
- Yeah.
Hey, you know what, let's take a little exercise while we're looking.
Ready?
Ooh, eggs, that starts with E. Apples are healthy, and jump rope is something.
I'm gonna pretend to jump rope now.
- I'm good at the imaginary jump rope.
I never trip.
- Okay, we gotta keep looking for things that are fast.
- Ooh, Orange Lobster says an electric bike.
(Wimee gasps) That's so cool because then you can ride around on your bike, and you've got a little extra bonus with the electricity.
Ooh, and elf.
That starts with E. A salad, that is healthy.
And hand weights, just like Jim.
He called it a free weight.
Means it's not attached to anything, right?
(Wimee gasps) An energy drink!
That's, wait a minute.
That is something healthy and starts with E. We got two outta three, and I guess you could use it to exercise.
Hmm, eggplant.
(Wimee gasps) Oh, eggplant is so delicious.
Man.
All this food, all this energy, I'm excited.
I wanna keep looking.
I wanna keep, I'm gonna do more pushups.
(Wimee breathing) Friends, if you wanna go along with me on pushups.
Ooh, egg, great.
(Wimee breathing) All right, that's a fun game to play.
So friends, anytime you wanna play that game, just go for it.
You can do it.
Yeah.
Alright, so this is fun.
We're hanging out.
We're together.
I'm gonna take a deep breath now.
(Wimee inhales) (Wimee exhales) Sometimes I get all excited, and it helps me if I just take a moment and catch my breath.
Yeah.
Hey Jim, did you have a favorite part of the show today?
- [Jim] I really enjoyed the three sentence story today.
I thought that it was really fun.
- I did too.
In fact, I was thinking some of the characters in the gingerbread book, there was a fox in there, right?
It made me think about the fox could join the band.
- [Jim] Yeah, I think that that would be a good addition.
What would the fox play though?
♪ What does the fox play - Oh!
(Wimee laughs) I think bass guitar 'cause there was no bass guitar in the band yet, right?
- [Jim] Oh, you're right.
- Yeah.
- [Jim] They could use some low in there with the ukulele and the kazoo.
I think you're right.
That's a good call, yeah.
- Hey, let's take a look at the Wimage Board.
I wanna see if we could imagine a fox in there.
I bet it could be in the front of the stage, the back of the stage.
Yeah, we'll check out it later.
This is so fun!
We're almost though out of time, Jim!
It goes so fast.
Oh, look at that.
