Oopsies, (chuckles) well, hey friends, right now, we are live on TV on WGVU.
Our show is designed for you to play along with us on many of the things that we'll be doing.
And some of you are registered at our custom-made play-at-home interface.
That's right, so you'll notice that there will be viewer ideas brought in during part of the show in real time, whoa!
When they registered, they were given an animal and a color to represent them.
So all of us are gonna play together, and some of your ideas will be shown right in the show.

- Do you like pumpkin pie?
- I love pumpkin pie.
I would eat pumpkin pie every day for every meal if I could because it is so delicious.
- Hmm, that's interesting.
- Yep, especially if you put whipped cream on it too.
- Oh yeah.
- Oh, whipped cream.
- Yeah.
(chuckling) - Candied pecans.
It's hard to beat.
- I think you like all types of pies, though, if I remember correctly.
- I do love pies.
It's hard to go wrong with any kind of pie, really.
- Yeah.
So, yeah, let's see what other people think.
Do you like pumpkin pie?
Ooh, yes.
It's like autumn in pie form.
That's beautiful.
Wow.
Yes, especially with Cool Whip!

Ooh, nope, I do not.
Hmm, too sweet.
Yeah, oh, the fall food is amazing!
Yep, it's delicious.
There's a lot of dings, ding.
Ooh, this one.
Yes, because it tastes good, but my mom is making sweet potato pie this year!
(gasps) Sweet potato pie.
I've never had sweet potato pie.
Oh, I love sweet, sweet things, yes.
It's yummy!

It's good.

I guess so.

It sounds so sweet, so delicious.

Well, friends, I'm curious what Moby is gonna share with us today.
(happy music) - I just read that most pumpkins are the color orange.
They can also be white, yellow, red, green, and even blue.
Yeah, pumpkins have seeds, so they're really a fruit, but we usually call them a vegetable.
Pumpkins grow on a vine, and they come in all different sizes.
Some are smaller than a baseball and some are as big as a carriage.
Ha ha, that must be where Cinderella gets her ride.
(happy music) - Blue pumpkin.
Jim, have you ever seen a blue pumpkin?
- [Jim] I have not seen a blue pumpkin, but I would like to.
- Huh, that's cool.
And I wonder what is the world's largest pumpkin?
Huh, yeah.
- They get pretty big.
- And what's the smallest pumpkin?
Huh, that got me thinking, got me thinking.
Well, hey, friends, it's time for today's one, two, Three Sentence Story.
Beginning, middle, end.
And the three words come from you.
That's right, they do.
Let's set the scene in the first sentence.
There's a problem in the second sentence.
And then, in the third sentence, ♪ There's a solution I got kinda fancy there.
♪ Dramatic, dramatic So let's see.
Will the story be silly?
Will it be a mystery?
♪ Dun dun dun Hmm, yeah, let's find out.
Where will the story begin?
I wonder if it'll have pumpkins.
Maybe, maybe not.
(gasps) Pants.
All right, let's see.
I'm gonna think this through.
It was a cool fall day as I put on my pants and went outside.
♪ Dun dun dun (easygoing music) Hmm, so friends, what's gonna happen here as we get going into the great outdoors?
Ooh, there's gonna be a baker.
Pants that becomes a baker.
Okay, here we go from the top.
I put on, it was a cool fall day, and I put on my pants to go outside.
I was going to share muffins with everybody but I was not, hmm, Jim, what do you think here?
I was trying, something to do with a baker and sharing.
Sharing the, I'm kinda struggling here- - [Jim] Maybe, okay, so you've got the pants.
Maybe you spilled something on the pants, right?
- (gasps) Okay.
- [Jim] While you were baking, maybe?
- Okay, so am I the baker?
- [Jim] Do you wanna be the baker?
- I think so.
- [Jim] Okay, you're the baker.
- I'm the baker, okay.
So okay, from the top.
It was a cool, but why did I go outside if I, I'm not sure.
- Maybe you were baking on the grill just for fun.
- Ooh, that's fascinating.
Okay, okay.
It was a cool fall day, and I went outside with my pants on.
(chuckling) I should have pants and a coat, but I'm gonna be, I'm gonna bake.
I was planning to bake cookies on the grill.
(easygoing music continues) No.
(Jim chuckling) Man, Jim I'm really- - I like that, though.
I think it'll be fun to bake cookies on the grill.
Let's see how they turn out.
- Okay, but the problem is the baker.
- Well, right- - It's because they haven't set the scene for a problem yet.
- [Jim] Well, 'cause maybe while you were baking, the cookies melted, then you got chocolate chips melted on your pants.
- Oh, no.
That is a problem.
- That would be a problem.
- Okay, okay, so we gotta solve the problem of the melted chocolate chips on my pants.
How do we solve this problem?
- Right.
- Okay, it's all gonna come together here in the end, I think.
- Let's hope.
- But the solution is jack-o'-lantern.
(gasps) Yes, okay, from the top.
It was a fall day, and I put on my pants, my jacket, and my hat and I went outside.
I planned to do some baking 'cause I was the baker, but the cookies were melting all over my pants.
The jack-o'-lantern on the ground looked up to me and said, "Don't worry, I've got a washcloth."
(Wimee laughing) (easygoing music continues) You know, Jim, some stories, some stories just go really well.
(Jim laughing) And other stories, you know, that's the process, right?
- [Jim] It is the process.
I enjoyed it, though.
Again, it was one of those, I didn't see that coming at all.
- Yeah, which part of it?
(chuckling) - [Jim] Pretty much all of it.
- Yeah, okay, but I think we've got some things to work from here.

- [Jim] It is kind of a pinkish salmon-y.

- It is more pink than salmon, I'd say, though.

Read the whole story as these forest animals like the field mouse and the raccoon, the squirrel, the rabbit, even a skunk do all kinds of crazy things trying to figure out what this round, orange object is.
They use it as a doorstop.
They cook food on it.
They use it as a table.
It's a crazy story.
But at the end, they end up growing another one and they start to figure out what it is.
So, shh, read it all the way to the end, and you'll be part of the surprise.
(bouncy music) (book thuds) - It's time now for slowing down.

And I'm clean!
We got all cleaned up.
The jack-o'-lantern helped me out 'cause I was baking.
All right, that was the problem was I made a mess.
(chuckles) Here's some title ideas: "Hooray for Washcloths!"
Our friends at the play-at-home play, (laughs) the play-at-home interface are sharing title ideas.
"The Fantastic Tale."
♪ Dun dun dun I love the color of this one, the sky, the trees.

(laughing) You know what's fun about that?
It's in the story, right?
I got all messy, but I also really struggled through the writing (chuckles) on that first draft.
But sometimes, when you struggle the most, you can really come up with stuff you never would've thought of.
"Pumpkin Spice."
Man, that sounds delicious.
"Cookies On The Barbecue."

(laughing) That's fun.
You know, I was thinking, though, the baker, right, was the problem?

And yeah, it's kinda cool.
It's unconventional to bake the cookies on the grill.
I like the twist that it unfolded.

Jim, any observations you have from this?
- [Jim] No, I loved it.
I loved this story today.
Actually, it was one of my favorites.
- Yeah, I love it.

- I found this pine cone, which starts with P. - (gasps) Starts with P. - I have this pillow, which also starts with P, but it's a nice fall orange.
- That's some cool texture.

- And I found this very large whisk that I use when I'm making large batches of pumpkin pie, and I have to make all kinds of whipped cream to put on top.
So that's my- - Wow, I've never seen a whisk that size.
- Large whisk, right?
I know, that's pretty big.
So that was my big.
